Description: The Dennis Elroy Barry Memorial Scholarship is available for graduating high school seniors in Worcester County, Massachusetts. Applicants must plan to pursue a career in social services, counseling/psychiatry, or public interest law.

Application requirements for the Dennis Elroy Barry Memorial Scholarship are:

Additional Information: The Dennis Elroy Barry Memorial Scholarship is provided annually through the Greater Worcester Community Foundation (GWCF). Scholarships are available for graduating high school seniors in Worcester county who are majoring in and planning to pursue a career in one of the following fields: social services, counseling or psychiatry, or public interest law. The GWCF has provided opportunity and financial assistance for more than 40 years in the central Massachusetts area, and continues this mission today with a variety of programs including scholarships for local area students. All applications completed prior to the deadline date will be given full consideration based on academic history, unmet financial need, and the strength of received recommendation letters. Additional consideration will be given to applicants who have a history of extracurricular activity and community service that involved helping low income and immigrant members of the Worcester community.

Award Amount: $400 annually, non-renewable.  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $400.
