Number of Awards & Eligibility: One award offered annually.
In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:
  1. This award is for U.S. students.
  2. Must be 15 to 20 years old.
  3. Must be a U.S. citizen.
  4. Must graduate from an accredited high school in Georgia.
  5. Must have a father, mother or natural guardian who is a full-time paid member of the police, fire, or sheriff's departments in Georgia (volunteer fire department members also qualify), OR a full-time public safety officer (police/fire) in Georgia. Children of administrative staff; DHS, FBI, and other federal employees; reserve officers; part-time sheriff's deputies; and retired, deceased, or disabled employees do not qualify.
  6. Must be a high school senior at time of application.

In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:

Description: This scholarship is available for Georgia high school seniors who have a father, mother or natural guardian who is a member of the police or fire department, or a full-time paid or volunteer member of the police department, located in Georgia AND is a full-time active employee, not on disability. Students must be 15 to 20 years old.

Additional Information: Awards are based on a combination of academic achievement, national test scores, extracurricular participation, and the essay. The score is based on the following: grade average, 25 points; SAT/ACT scores, 30 points; essay, 25 points; academic prizes, awards, hobbies, school and outside extracurricular activities, 20 points.

Award Amount: $1,500 annually, non-renewable.  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $1,500.
