Number of Awards & Eligibility: One award offered annually.
In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:
  1. This award is for U.S. students.
  2. Must be a U.S. citizen or eligible non-citizen.
  3. Must be an incoming or current undergraduate student. Students may be pursuing a certificate or degree.
  4. Must enroll on a three-quarter (nine credits) basis or higher.
  5. Must reside in Essex or Orleans counties in Vermont.
  6. Must demonstrate academic achievement.

In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:

Description: This scholarship is open to undergraduate students who reside in Essex or Orleans counties in Vermont and intend to reside and work in Vermont upon graduation. Students must demonstrate academic achievement and financial need.

Additional Information: This scholarship was created to honor the memory of artist Jennie Johnson, who was most widely known as the postmaster of Beebe Plain, Vermont. Please note: This scholarship is funded by an endowment subject to laws restricting disbursements under certain investment yield scenarios; as a result, there can be no guarantee of a scholarship award for the upcoming academic year. Applicants must: attend an accredited school approved for federal Title IV funding; intend to reside and work in Vermont upon graduation; and demonstrate financial need. Selection is based on financial need, academic achievement, and application documents.

Award Amount: Up to $1,000 annually, non-renewable.  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $1,000.
