Number of Awards & Eligibility: Approximately seven awards offered annually.
In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:
  1. This award is for U.S. students.
  2. Must be a resident of the Ka'a'awa area on Windward O'ahu, HI. Preference is given to long-time residents of the Ka'a'awa area.
  3. Must demonstrate academic achievement with a grade point average of 2.7 or higher.
  4. Must plan to attend an accredited two- or four-year college or university as a full-time student (12 credits per semester for undergraduate; 9 credits per semester for graduate).
  5. Must be a U.S. citizen.
  6. Must be a high school senior or older to apply for this undergraduate and graduate award.

Description: This scholarship is available for undergraduate and graduate students who are residents of the Ka'a'awa area on Windward O'ahu, HI. Students must have a grade point average of 2.7 or higher.

Additional Information: This fund was established in 1995 by the Ka'a'awa Community Association to benefit long-time residents of the traditional ahupua'a of Kualoa, Ka'a'awa, Makaua, and Kahana. All applicants must demonstrate financial need and good moral character. Recipients will be notified after the scholarship selection committees meet, which could be any time between May and August.

Award Amount: $600 annually, non-renewable. Students may reapply each year.  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $4,200.
