Number of Awards & Eligibility: Approximately 1100 awards offered annually.
In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:
  1. This award is for U.S. students.
  2. Must be a Kansas resident.
  3. Must attend a Kansas public or private college or university.
  4. Must be designated a Kansas State Scholar in senior year of high school.
  5. Must plan to enroll full time.
  6. Must be a U.S. citizen.
  7. Must graduate from a Kansas high school.
  8. Must be a graduating high school senior during the current academic year.

Description: This award is available to Kansas high school students who are designated as state scholars during the senior year of high school and planning to attend a Kansas college or university.

Application requirements for the Kansas State Scholarship are:

Additional Information: The Kansas State Scholarship is designed to assist financially needy students in the top 20-40% of Kansas high school graduates who are designated as state scholars during the senior year of high school. Students who meet minimum requirements comprise the applicant pool with designation (selection) of state scholars based on a state ranking system. The number of designees is dependent on state funding levels.

Award Amount: Up to $1,000 annually, based on financial need as measured by the Federal Methodology using data submitted on the FAFSA and on the availability of State funds. Awards are renewable for up to a total of four years of study, recipients must submit the FAFSA and the state application each year and maintain a 3.0 grade point average to be considered for renewal.  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $1,000.
