Number of Awards & Eligibility: Three awards offered annually.
In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:
  1. This award is for U.S. students.
  2. Must be attending Kohala High School.
  3. Must be a resident of Hawaii.
  4. Must plan to attend an accredited two- or four-year college or university as a full-time student (12 credits per semester).
  5. Must demonstrate academic achievement with a grade point average of 2.7 or higher.
  6. Must be a U.S. citizen.
  7. Must be a high school senior at time of application.

In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:

Description: This scholarship is available for Hawaii high school seniors who are attending Kohala High School. Students must have a grade point average of 2.7 or higher.

Application requirements for the Kohala Ditch Education Fund are:

  • Application form
  • Personal statement
  • Official Transcript
Additional Information: This scholarship was established in 1999 by the Kamuela Kayak Corporation to support graduates of Kohala High School. All applicants must demonstrate financial need and good moral character. Recipients will be notified after the scholarship selection committees meet, which could be any time between May and August.

Award Amount: Approximately $1,000 annually, non-renewable. Students may reapply each year.  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $3,000.
