Number of Awards & Eligibility: The number of awards offered varies annually based on funding.
In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:
  1. This award is for U.S. students.
  2. Must be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident.
  3. Preference is given to applicants with some Czech, Slovak or Moravian heritage.
  4. Must be a graduate of any public, private or parochial high school within Linn County, Iowa.
  5. Must attend a college, university or qualified vocational educational institute in Iowa.
  6. Must enroll full time.
  7. Must be a high school senior or recent graduate at time of application.

In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:

Description: This award is available for U.S. high school seniors of Czech, Slovak or Moravian heritage who are graduating from a high school in Linn County, Iowa. Students must plan to enroll full time at a college or university in Iowa.

Application requirements for the Komensky Society Scholarship are:

  • Application form
  • Personal statement
  • Official Transcript
  • Recommendation letters (2)
  • FAFSA
  • EFC statement
Additional Information: Students must demonstrate financial need to be considered eligible for this award.

Award Amount: $500- $1,000  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $1,000.
