In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:

Description: The Leslie & Betty Sains Scholarship Fund is provided annually to high school seniors in Arizona. Preference is given to students of Native American descent.

Additional Information: The Leslie & Betty Sains Scholarship Fund is provided annually to graduating high school seniors in Arizona who demonstrate high academic achievement and unmet financial need that may otherwise be a barrier to higher education. Additional preference is given to students who are Navajo or otherwise of Native American ancestry. The Arizona Community Foundation provides scholarships for high school seniors and current college students throughout Arizona. Selection for awards is based primarily on academic records, financial need (as demonstrated by the FAFSA paperwork), and the quality of other submission items such as essays and recommendation letters.

Award Amount: The amount of the scholarship varies annually depending upon the amount of funding available as well as the applicant's demonstrated financial need.  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $2,000.
