In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:
  1. This award is for international and U.S. students.
  2. Must be a graduating high school senior who is enrolled in high school full time and has been accepted for enrollment at a two- or four-year college or university.
  3. Must be a resident of Nassau or Suffolk counties in New York.
  4. Must reside or have resided with a parent or guardian who is/was a survivor or victim of breast cancer or other women's cancer.

Description: This scholarship is open to U.S. and international high school seniors who reside in Nassau or Suffolk counties in New York. Students must reside or have resided with a parent or guardian who is a survivor or victim of breast cancer or other women's cancer.

Application requirements for the LI2DAY Scholarship are:

  • Application form
  • Personal statement
  • Recommendation letter
  • Official Transcript
  • Activities list
  • Proof of acceptance
Additional Information: The awarding of these scholarships will be based on an evaluation of the following criteria: content and completeness of the application, including school, community, and outside activities; quality and content of the personal statement; the letter of recommendation; and high school educational effort and definite plans for the upcoming academic year. These scholarships are not need-based and may be awarded to anyone who applies, based solely on the decision of the Scholarship Committee of the LI2Day Walk. Recipients and their parents and/or guardian will be invited to a scholarship awards brunch in May to receive their scholarship award.

Award Amount: $2,500 annually, non-renewable.  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $2,500.
