Number of Awards & Eligibility: One award offered annually.
In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:
  1. Must have a grade point average of 3.0 or higher.
  2. Must attend Charleston High School in Charleston, Arkansas.
  3. Must be a high school senior at the time of application.
  4. This award is for U.S. students.
  5. Must be a U.S. citzen or legal permanent resident.

Description: This award is available for graduating seniors at Charleston High School in Charleston, Arkansas. Applicants must have a grade point average of 3.0 or higher.

Application requirements for the Roy and Mae Smith Scholarship Fund are:

Additional Information: Scholarship awards will be provided to eligible students who demonstrate financial need, academic distinction, hard work, and self sufficiency. The Communities Foundation of Texas has been a partner with local individuals, families and businesses for raising the quality of life in the Texas community since 1953. Providing scholarships to deserving students is an important part of this mission, in the hopes that financial assistance will help these students to reach their full potential in high schools, colleges and continuing education across the country.

Award Amount: $1,250 annually, renewable for up to three additional years. Scholarship funds may be used for tuition, books, and other educational expenses.  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $5,000.
