Number of Awards & Eligibility: Three awards offered annually.
In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:
  1. This award is for international and U.S. students.
  2. Must be currently attending a high school in the United States or the U.S. territories.
  3. Must be a high school student at time of application.

Description: This essay contest is open to all high school students in the United States and United States Territories. Students must submit a 1,000-word essay on the current year's topic.

Additional Information: The National World War II Museum will accept the first 500 valid entries only. The applicant will be notified if his/her entry is accepted. Essays will be judged for originality, clarity of expression, adherence to contest theme, grammar, spelling, and punctuation. This is not a research paper about Anne Frank or World War II, but the opinions in the essay should be backed by historical evidence from WWII as well as modern-day events. Winners will be notified and announced in May.

Award Amount: The first-place winner will receive $1,000; the second-place winner will receive $750; and the third-place winner will receive $500. All awards are offered annually and are non-renewable.  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $750.
