Number of Awards & Eligibility: The number of awards offered varies annually and is dependent on the number of qualified applicants.
In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:
  1. This award is for U.S. students.
  2. Must be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident.
  3. Must be classified as an Arizona resident for tuition purposes.
  4. Must plan to complete 30 UA units per academic year.
  5. Must plan to attend the University of Arizona.
  6. Must be a graduating high school senior and be planning to attend college for the first time in the fall.
  7. Must have a grade point average of 3.25 or higher.
  8. Must have an ACT score of 24 or higher OR an SAT score of 1110 or higher (critical reading and math only).

Additional Information: The Wildcat Excellence Award is a highly competitive tuition scholarship offered annually to a select number of Arizona resident high school graduates attending college for the first time. Award offers and values are based on high school merits.

Award Amount: $2,000 to $12,000 annually, renewable for three additional years (eight semesters total) for fall and spring semesters only, as long as the recipient maintains a grade point average of 3.0 or higher and completes 30 credits each academic year. Award amounts vary based on the student's grade point average and ACT/SAT scores.  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $30,000.
