Number of Awards & Eligibility: One award offered annually.
In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:
  1. This award is for U.S. students.
  2. Must be a U.S. citizen or eligible non-citizen.
  3. Must be a graduating high school senior.
  4. Must be a resident of Delaware. Preference is given to those residing within Representative Carey's 36th Legislative District, comprising areas of Ellendale, Lewes, Lincoln, Milford, Milton, and Slaughter Beach.
  5. Must enroll as a full-time undergraduate student in the fall of the year in which the scholarships are awarded.
  6. Must pursue a degree or professional designation in an agriculture- or education-related field. Agriculture fields will be given preference.
  7. Must participate in 4-H, FFA, or other community service activities.

In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:

Description: This scholarship is open to Delaware high school seniors who plan to pursue a degree or professional designation in agriculture (preferred) or education. Students must participate in 4-H, FFA, or other community service activities; students in the top 10 percent of their class are not eligible.

Additional Information: To ensure complete impartiality in selection of recipients and to maintain a high level of professionalism, DCF programs are administered by AcademicWorks, a firm that specializes in managing sponsored scholarship programs. All students must have a low to moderate income. An independent selection committee will evaluate the applications and select the recipients based on academic performance. Decisions of the selection committees are final and are not subject to appeal. No application feedback will be given. Notifications are sent to recipients and applicants not selected to receive an award via email by the end of June.

Award Amount: $1,500 annually, non-renewable. The award amount is at the discretion of the DCF Board of Directors.  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $1,500.
