Number of Awards & Eligibility: 79 awards offered annually.

In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:

Description: High school seniors who are in the top one-third of their graduating class, have an SAT/ACT score of 950/19 or higher and are residents of Texas planning to attend a Texas college or university are eligible for this award. Students must reside in a participating Area Go Texan county.

Application requirements for the Area Go Texan Scholarship are:

  • Application form
  • Official Transcript
  • SAT/ACT scores
  • Essay
  • Recommendation letters (3)
  • FAFSA
Additional Information: Selection of scholarship winners is made through an evaluation by an independent scholarship selection committee that is comprised of members of the Astrodome Rotary Club. Applicants are evaluated on the basis of academics, leadership/citizenship and financial need. Awards will be presented during the show at the Area Go Texan Scholarship Banquet.

Award Amount: Four year $20,000 scholarships to 79 students.  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $1,580,000.
