In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:

Description: This scholarship is available to U.S. and international undergraduate students who have graduated from high school or are attending a school within the geographic boundaries of ASHRAE's Minnesota Region. Students must major in engineering or architecture and plan to pursue a career in the heating, ventilating, air conditioning and refrigeration (HVAC&R) profession.

Application requirements for the ASHRAE Minnesota Chapter Peter Potvin Scholarship are:

  • Recommendation letter

  • Official Transcript
Additional Information: The ASHRAE Scholarship Program is designed to encourage and assist heating, ventilating, air conditioning and refrigeration (HVAC&R) education through its granting of scholarships and fellowships. The program also serves the public interest by aiding in the education of men and women to become qualified to practice as engineers in the HVAC&R field. The student's school must host a recognized ASHRAE student branch. The student must demonstrate a need for financial assistance, leadership ability, and character. Recipients are notified in the spring with scholarships awarded for study in the following fall/spring academic year.

Award Amount: $3,000 annually, non-renewable.  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $3,000.
