Number of Awards & Eligibility: Ten awards offered annually.
In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:
  1. This award is for U.S. students.
  2. Must be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident.
  3. Must attend one of the following partner universities: Florida Agricultural and Mechanical University; Iowa State University; Kansas State University; Missouri University of Science & Technology; Ohio State University; Pennsylvania State University; Purdue University; Stanford University; Texas A & M, College Station; University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign; University of Minnesota; University of Nebraska, Lincoln; or University of North Dakota.
  4. Must be a current first- or second-year undergraduate student to apply for this undergraduate award.
  5. Special consideration will be given to a student who demonstrates financial need; affiliation with an underrepresented group; or a specialization in agriculture or a related field, business, computer science, engineering, or food science.

Application requirements for the Cargill Global Scholars Program for U.S. Students are:

Additional Information: Applicants must demonstrate high academic performance and leadership potential. Interviews will be scheduled with all semi-finalists in May. Award winners will be announced in June.

Award Amount: $2,500 annually, renewable for up to two additional years.  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $7,500.

Applications are available online from the Cargill website. In addition to the completed application, the student must submit the materials detailed within the online application. Applications must be submitted by 11:59 p.m. EDT on the deadline date.
