In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:
  1. This award is for U.S. students.
  2. Must be a full-time student.
  3. Must not use any tobacco products.
  4. Must have a grade point average of 3.25 or higher.
  5. Must graduate with an associate of arts degree from St. Johns River State College.
  6. Must plan to attend an institution in Florida's State University System.
  7. Must be a U.S. citizen.
  8. Must be a college sophomore at time of application.

In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:

Description: This scholarship is available to U.S. citizens who graduate with an associate of arts degree from St. Johns River Community College and plan to attend a school in the Florida State University System. Students must have a grade point average of 3.25 and must not use tobacco products.

Application requirements for the C.L. Overturf, Jr. Endowed Scholarship are:

  • Recommendation letter
  • Application form
  • Official Transcript
Additional Information: The recipient must not use any tobacco products and be willing to provide, upon request, a written statement to that effect Some preference may be given to students who are applicants for housing through the Southern Scholarship Foundation.

Award Amount: The award covers full tuition and books (up to $3,000) annually for students attending a participating institution in the State University System of Florida. Awards may be renewable for one additional year provided that the student maintains a grade point average of 3.0 or higher.  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $3,000.
