Number of Awards & Eligibility: Approximately 19 awards offered annually.
In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:
  1. This award is for U.S. students.
  2. Must major in journalism or communications.
  3. Must be a resident of Hawaii.
  4. Must attend or plan to attend an accredited two- or four-year college or university as a full-time student (12 credits per semester for undergraduate; 9 credits per semester for graduate).
  5. Must demonstrate academic achievement with a grade point average of 2.7 or higher.
  6. Must be a U.S. citizen.
  7. Must be a college junior, senior or a graduate student at time of application.

In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:

Description: This scholarship is available for college juniors, seniors, and graduate students who are residents of Hawaii and have a grade point average of 2.7 or higher. Students must be majoring in journalism or communications.

Additional Information: All applicants for this award must demonstrate financial need and good moral character. Recipients will be notified after the scholarship selection committees meet, which could be any time between May and August.

Award Amount: Approximately $1,894 annually, non-renewable. Students may reapply each year.  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $35,986.
