Description: The Eugene and Thora Chin Scholarship Fund is available for students of Asian or Pacific Islander heritage. Applicants must reside in Sacramento, California and must demonstrate a record of excellent academic achievement.

Additional Information: Awarded annually with funds provided by the donations of Eugene and Thora Chin, this scholarship is provided to a Sacramento area student of Asian or Pacific Islander Heritage. Applicants must demonstrate the highest levels of academic merit and must plan to attend any accredited college or university in the United States. In addition to the previously stated application requirements, students must also submit two letters of recommendation from individuals who they are not related to, such as: a professor, teacher, or other instructor; a manager; or other community leader. Award selection will be based on a combination of academic merit and other factors, as determined by the individuals or organizations who are sponsoring the award. The Sacramento Region Community Foundation manages and administers dozens of scholarship programs that are available to local area students. Funds are financially supported by individuals, families, businesses, and other charitable organizations within Sacramento. Award Amount: $1,000 to $6,000 annually, non-renewable.  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $6,000.
