Number of Awards & Eligibility: One award offered annually.
In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:
  1. This award is for international and U.S. students.
  2. Must be a Kansas resident.
  3. Must have a grade point average of 3.0 or higher.
  4. Must plan to attend school as an undergraduate or graduate student.
  5. Must plan to attend a Kansas postsecondary institution.
  6. Must be 25 years of age or older at time of application.

In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:

Description: This award is available for U.S. and international Kansas residents who are enrolled or planning to enroll in any Kansas college or university. Applicants must be undergraduate or graduate students with a grade point average of 3.0 or higher, and must be 25 years of age or older.

Application requirements for the Gordon & Betty Cape Continuing Education Endowment Scholarship are:

  • Essay
  • Recommendation letter
  • Application form
  • Official Transcript
  • $5 application fee per scholarship
Additional Information: Please note: The required $5 application fee is used to cover the costs of running the scholarship program. Any fee monies remaining after costs have been covered are put back into the general scholarship fund to support future scholarship awards. Applicants are selected based on the following criteria: leadership/service; financial need; and scholastic ability. Winners will be notified by June 1.

Award Amount: $500 annually, non-renewable.The award may be applied toward tuition, registration fees, books, dormitory fees, or any other college fees or academic expenses. The award will be made payable to the college or university of the recipient's choice. If the college or university of original choice is changed, the scholarship director must be notified immediately. No special consideration will be given to previous winners.  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $500.
