In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:

Description: This award is available for U.S. students who are residents of Kent County, Michigan. Applicants must be majoring in music at the undergraduate or graduate level and maintain a grade point average of 3.0 or higher.

Additional Information: The Grand Rapids Community Foundation awards hundreds of scholarships annually, primarily to Kent County students bound for or in college, or those pursuing a technical career. This scholarship, offered in honor of Guy D. & Mary Edith Halladay, is awarded each year to a Kent County resident who is majoring in music at any accredited college or university in the United States. Selection is based on academic performance and financial need.

Award Amount: Awards range from $500 to $5,000 depending on the student's unmet need and the availability of funds. Average awards are about $1,000 annually, non-renewable.  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $1,000.
