Number of Awards & Eligibility: One award offered annually.
In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:
  1. This scholarship is for women.
  2. This scholarship is for U.S. students.
  3. Must have one or more dependent children.
  4. Must be currently enrolled in an undergraduate program.
  5. Must attend Johnson County Community College in Johnson County, KS.
  6. Must have a grade point average of 2.25 or higher.

Additional Information: Applicants for the Hallifax Scholarship for Mothers must attend a career-focused program at Johnson County Community College in Johnson County, Kansas. Applicants must have a grade point average of 2.25 or higher and must demonstrate urgent financial need with a household income of $30,000 per year or less. Award selection will be based primarily on financial need, as well as the quality of the submitted essay. Awards are provided through the Greater Kansas City Community Foundation, a local charity founded in 1978 with the goal of improving the Kansas City metropolitan area. Award Amount: $600 will be provided for the spring semester following the application deadline. All checks are made co-payable to the winning student and Johnson County Community College, and will be mailed directly to the school.  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $600.
