Number of Awards & Eligibility: One award offered annually.
In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:
  1. Must be African American.
  2. Must demonstrate unmet financial need.
  3. Must be a resident of Washington D.C.
  4. Must be an undergraduate student at the time of application.
  5. Must have a grade point average of 2.8 or higher.
  6. This award is for U.S. students.
  7. Must be a U.S. citizen or legal permanent resident.

In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:

Description: This scholarship is available for African American residents of Washington D.C. who have a grade point average of 2.8 or higher and unmet financial need. Applicants must be currently enrolled in an accredited undergraduate program in the U.S.

Additional Information: The Lockwood/McCree Scholarship is awarded to an African American student from Washington D.C. who is currently enrolled in an undergraduate school in the U.S. This a competitive program; not all applicants will be selected as recipients. All decisions of Central Scholarship Bureau and the Grant Committees are final. Selection is based on a combination of academic achievement and unmet financial need.

Award Amount: $2,500 annually, non-renewable.  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $2,500.
