Number of Awards & Eligibility: Two awards offered annually.
In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:
  1. This award is for U.S. students.
  2. Must be a U.S. citizen.
  3. Must be in his/her third year of undergraduate study OR be studying at the graduate level.
  4. Must be studying in the field of library science.
  5. Must have a grade point average of 3.0 or higher.

Description: This scholarship is available for U.S. college juniors and graduate students who are studying in the field of library science. Students must have a grade point average of 3.0 or higher.

Application requirements for the Michael T. and Mary L. Cloyd Scholarship are:

  • Application form
  • Recommendation letter (2)
  • Personal statement
  • Official Transcript
  • List of activities
  • Self-addressed stamped postcard
Additional Information: A student is only eligible for one scholarship from the National Society Daughters of the American Revolution (NSDAR). Awards are based on academic excellence, commitment to field of study, and/or financial need, or other restrictions on specific scholarships. No affiliation with DAR is necessary unless specified. Scholarships are awarded regardless of race, religion, sex or national origin. Only winners are notified by the National DAR Scholarship Chairman following the approval of a ruling by the executive committee of the NSDAR.

Award Amount: $3,000 annually, non-renewable.  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $6,000.
