Number of Awards & Eligibility: The number of recipients for this program varies according to the number of college students meeting the eligibility requirements in any given year.
In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:
  1. This award is for U.S. students.
  2. Must be a U.S. citizen.
  3. Must have a grade point average of 3.5 or higher on a 5.0 scale.
  4. Must be a legal resident of the state of Illinois.
  5. Must attend the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign College of Commerce and Business Administration or College of Liberal Arts & Sciences.
  6. Must be pursuing a degree with an emphasis in real estate.
  7. Must have 60 college credit hours or more completed at time of application.
  8. Must enroll full time.

In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:

Description: This award is for U.S. college juniors who are legal residents of the state of Illinois and attend the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign College of Commerce and Business Administration or College of Liberal Arts & Sciences. Applicants must have 60 college credit hours completed and be pursuing a degree with an emphasis in real estate.

Additional Information: The Illinois Real Estate Educational Foundation (ILREEF) is a not-for-profit organization established to aid and promote the work of real estate education throughout Illinois. Morgan L. Fitch was a 1922 graduate of the University of Illinois and a national leader of the real estate industry. He served as President of the Chicago Real Estate Board in 1940, President of the Illinois Association of Realtors in 1944, and President of the National Association of Realtors in 1947. The family of the late Morgan L. Fitch, through a contribution to the foundation in 1981, established a scholarship fund in perpetuity as a tribute to the memory of one of the nation's most prominent real estate industry leaders. The selection of scholarship recipients will be determined by the ILREEF based on the following criteria: indication of interest in pursuing a career in real estate or an allied field (i.e., construction, land use planning, mortgage banking, property management, real estate appraising, real estate assessing, real estate brokerage, real estate development, real estate investment counseling, real estate law, real estate syndication); record of scholastic achievement, including academic grade point average; economic need or situation; and references and recommendations by instructors, employers, realtors and other prominent individuals. If selected as a finalist in the award process the student will be requested to appear for a personal interview in June or July.

Award Amount: Minimum of $2,000 annually, non-renewable.  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $2,000.
