Number of Awards & Eligibility: One award offered annually.
In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:
  1. This award is for international and U.S. students.
  2. Must be a citizen or resident of the U.S. or Canada OR be enrolled in an accredited educational institution in the U.S. or Canada.
  3. Must be a graduate student.
  4. Must be studying floriculture with an intent to pursue his/her career in the land-grant university system with interest in research, extension, or teaching.
  5. Must have a grade point average of 2.0 or higher. Applicants with lower grade point averages may be considered if they have otherwise outstanding qualifications or extenuating circumstances.

In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:

Description: This scholarship is open to U.S. and Canadian graduate students in floriculture intending to pursue their career in the land-grant university system with interest in research, extension or teaching. Students must have a grade point average of 2.0 or higher.

Additional Information: Dick Meister built a family business in publishing for specialized growers in commercial horticulture. He is a strong supporter of the land-grant college system and through the years worked closely with many horticultural and floricultural leaders. This scholarship is dedicated to the outstanding accomplishments of those in university extension and especially to Will Carlson in floriculture. Each student who has won a scholarship will be sent a notification letter by U.S. mail. Scholarship decisions will be made by August of each year.

Award Amount: $4,000 annually, non-renewable. All scholarships are provided as cash awards with checks issued jointly in the name of the recipient and the college or institution he/she will be attending in the fall.  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $4,000.
