Society of Women Engineers (SWE)

Number of Awards & Eligibility: One award offered annually.
In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:
  1. This award is for international and U.S. students.
  2. Must be a female.
  3. Must be enrolled full time.
  4. Must have a grade point average of 3.0 or higher.
  5. Must be a college sophomore, junior, or senior, or a graduate student. The student must be in a position to accept the scholarship for the school year in which it is being awarded.
  6. Must major in engineering or engineering technology.
  7. Must be a member of SWE.
  8. Must attend a school located in SWE Region E or H. Information on SWE regions is available online at societyofwomenengineers.swe.org/membership/swe-sections.

In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:

Description: This scholarship is open to female sophomores, juniors, seniors, and graduate students who are majoring in engineering or engineering technology and have a grade point average of 3.0 or higher. Students must be members of SWE and attend an institution in SWE Region E or H.

Additional Information: Preference is given to applicants who demonstrate community involvement with planning and participating in events or other organizations and/or have a high level of dedication and passion for their own community, organizations, and engineering in general. Applicants may not be current recipients of a renewable SWE scholarship or receiving full funding for education from another organization (such as members of the armed services attending US military academies and students receiving full reimbursement from an employer). The applicant must enroll or plan to enroll in a program accredited by ABET. Accreditation status for degree programs at specific schools can be found at main.abet.org/aps/Accreditedprogramsearch.aspx.

Award Amount: $1,250 annually, non-renewable.  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $1,250.
