Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers (SHPE)

Number of Awards & Eligibility: One award offered annually.
In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:
  1. This award is for international and U.S. students.
  2. Must be pursuing his/her first graduate degree at an accredited college or university in the United States or Puerto Rico.
  3. Must be majoring in a science, technology, engineering, or math degree program.
  4. Must be a student member of SHPE in good standing at the time of application and throughout the academic year.
  5. Must have a grade point average of 2.75 or higher.
  6. Must be enrolled full time (nine credit hours) throughout the academic year.

In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:

Description: This award is for graduate students enrolled full time in a degree program in a STEM (science, technology, engineering, mathematics) field. Students must be members of the Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers and have a grade point average of 3.0 or higher. Students of Hispanic descent will be given priority.

Application requirements for the SHPE Graduate Scholarship are:

  • Recommendation letter
  • Application form
  • Personal statement
  • Official Transcript
  • Resume
Additional Information: Applicants are not required to be of Hispanic descent, but those who are will be given priority. The scholarship will be awarded upon the basis of academic standing and financial need.

Award Amount: $3,000 annually, non-renewable. Previous recipients may reapply.  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $3,000.
