Number of Awards & Eligibility: The number of awards offered annually varies according to the number of eligible students.

In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:

Description: This award is for Kansas undergraduate students who are planning to attend a public postsecondary institution in Kansas. Students must have served in the military after Sept. 11, 2001.

Application requirements for the Kansas Military Service Scholarship are:

  • Application form
  • Proof of eligibility
  • FAFSA
Additional Information: Students may enroll at any of the following Kansas public postsecondary institutions: area vocational schools, area vocational-technical schools, community colleges, the municipal university, state educational institutions or technical colleges. Priority in awarding scholarships is given to those students with the greatest financial need. Graduate students are not eligible for this award.

Award Amount: Award amounts are determined based on the student's demonstrated financial need and enrollment status. Award amounts are for up to the cost of tuition and fees at an eligible Kansas public postsecondary institution. Awards may be renewable for up to four years of undergraduate study. If the course of instruction requires a fifth year of undergraduate study. Recipients must reapply each year.  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $4,226.
