Number of Awards & Eligibility: There are two awards available.
In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:
  1. Identifies as a minority female student
  2. Permanent resident of a southeastern state (South Carolina, North Carolina, Georgia, or Tennessee)
  3. Enrolled in a 4 year institution
  4. Declared as an education major in a teacher licensure granting program and intends to teach K-12 after graduation
  5. Have earned a GPA at or above a 3.0 on a 4.0 scale

In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:

Description: The Gwendolyn Gives Perseverance Education Scholarship is awarded annually to college students currently pursuing a bachelors degree in education. Scholarships are awarded in amounts ranging from $500-$5000 annually. Applicants can begin submitting their application in October of each year, and the deadline for submission is February 15th. Award Amount: Chosen applicants will each receive up to $500.  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $1,000.
