In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:

Description: This scholarship is available for female college freshmen and sophomores who are residents of Hawaii and are of Hawaiian ancestry. Past recipients who will be juniors or seniors are also eligible to apply. Students must have a grade point average of 3.3 or higher.

Additional Information: The Ka'iulani Home for Girls originally provided housing for young women of Hawaiian ancestry. Kamehameha Schools used the building from 1950 to 1962 to board female students attending the schools. When the home became so old it could not be repaired, it was demolished and the property sold. The Ka'iulani Home for Girls Trust was established in 1963 and it continues the original mission of supporting Hawaiian females. All applicants must demonstrate financial need and good moral character. Recipients will be notified after the scholarship selection committees meet, which could be any time between May and August.

Award Amount: Approximately $739 annually, non-renewable. Students may reapply each year.  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $164,058.
