Number of Awards & Eligibility: One award offered annually.
In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:
  1. This award is for international and U.S. students.
  2. Must be majoring in pharmacy.
  3. Must be a member of Kappa Epsilon in good financial standing.
  4. Must be enrolled or planning to enroll full time.
  5. Must be female.
  6. Must be in the final year of a pharmacy college Pharm.D. program or have completed a pharmacy degree, and be planning to pursue a Ph.D.

Description: This award is available for members of Kappa Epsilon who are in the final year of a pharmacy college Pharm. D. program or have completed a pharmacy degree. The student must be planning to pursue a Ph.D.

Application requirements for the Kappa Epsilon-AFPE-Nellie Wakeman First Year Graduate School Scholarship are:

  • Recommendation letter
  • Application form
  • Official Transcript
  • Acceptance letter (graduate school only)
Additional Information: Consideration is given to those applicants who need financial assistance to further their education in pharmacy. A Kappa Epsilon fellowship selection committee will choose three finalists, and the AFPE Board of Grants will select the awardee from these finalists. The recipient will be notified on or about March 1.

Award Amount: $7,500 annually, non-renewable. The award may be used for any purpose decided by the awardee and faculty sponsor that will enable the student to have a successful program, e.g. student stipend, laboratory supplies, books, materials, travel related to the program of study. None of the funds shall be used for indirect costs by the institution. Funds will be released any time after September upon receipt of confirmation that the student is enrolled in a full-time pharmacy college advanced degree program. Funding for successful applicants will be provided in two equal stipends on Sept. 1, and Feb. 1 of the following year. Funds must be used in the next academic year after the student is awarded the fellowship.  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $7,500.
