Number of Awards & Eligibility: One award offered annually.
In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:
  1. Must be a U.S. citizen or legal permanent resident.
  2. Must be a resident of Kent County, Michigan.
  3. Must have a grade point average of 3.0 or higher.
  4. Must be an undergraduate student at the time of application.
  5. This award is for U.S. students.
  6. Preference is given to female applicants.
  7. Preference is given to students of color.

In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:

Description: This award is available for U.S. undergraduate students residing in Kent County, Michigan. Applicants must have a grade point average of 3.0 and demonstrate unmet financial need. Preference will be given to women of color.

Additional Information: The Grand Rapids Community Foundation awards hundreds of scholarships annually, primarily to Kent County students bound for or in college, or those pursuing a technical career. Selection for this award, provided in honor of the Hackett Family, is based on academic achievement and financial need. Preference is given to women of color.

Award Amount: Awards range from $500 to $5,000 depending on the student's unmet need and the availability of funds. Average awards are about $1,000 annually, non-renewable.  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $1,000.
