Number of Awards & Eligibility: Three awards offered annually.
In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:
  1. This award is for U.S. students.
  2. Must be a legal resident of the 50 United States, the U.S. territories, the District of Columbia and Puerto Rico.
  3. Must be currently enrolled in U.S. accredited, post-secondary institution of higher learning (college, university, or trade school).

Description: U.S. undergraduate students are eligible to apply for this award with a valid student ID. Applicants must submit an essay as posted on the Foreclosure.com website.

Additional Information: Graduate students, law students and/or high school seniors are NOT eligible to apply for this award. Freshman entering in the upcoming fall semester are eligible once they have received a student ID number. Applicants must be 13 years of age or older at time of application. Current employees, officers, directors and agents of Sponsor and its related companies and members of their immediate families (defined as spouses, parents, siblings and children) and persons residing at the same address are not eligible to win.

Award Amount: The top prize winner will receive $2,500 and the two runner ups will receive $500 each. All awards are offered annually and are non-renewable.  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $3,500.

Additional information is available online from the Foreclosure.com website. To apply, the student must first complete an entry form with his/her name, address, home phone, student ID number, school name and email address and must agree to the scholarship rules. Once the entry form is completed and submitted, the student will then need to email an essay (to [email protected]) of 800 to 2,000 words in length on the topic listed online. The essay must either be pasted into the main content of the email or attached as a Microsoft Word document. The applicant must include his/her name and phone number, as well as the name and address of the college/university that he/she currently attends in the body of the email. If the applicant does not receive email notification acknowledging receipt of his/her entry within 48 hours after submission, he/she may contact foreclosure.com at [email protected]. Essays must be received no later than 11:59 p.m. ET on the deadline date.
