Number of Awards & Eligibility: Two scholarships will be provided annually. One will be awarded to the best essay submission received and one will be awarded to the best video submission.
In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:
  1. Must be a recently graduated high school senior who is planning to attend college for the first time in the upcoming fall semester.
  2. Must be impacted by cancer either through a personal diagnosis or the diagnosis of a family member or loved one.

Description: Mesothelioma cancer claims the lives of thousands of people every year in the United States and its impact is felt for a lifetime by tens of thousands more people who are dear to them. Baron & Budd mesothelioma attorneys have been dedicated to fighting for the rights of mesothelioma cancer victims and their loved ones for more than four decades and have established these scholarships to honor their legacy.

Application requirements for the Baron & Budd Mesothelioma Cancer Victims Memorial Scholarship are:

  • Essay
  • Recommendation letter

  • Essay or video
  • Photo
Additional Information: The Baron & Budd Mesothelioma Cancer Victims Memorial Scholarship is provided annually to incoming college students who share their experiences with cancer. Students are eligible to apply if they have been diagnosed with cancer or have been impacted by the diagnosis of a family member or close friend. Scholarship award selection will be based primarily on the quality of submitted essays and video essays.

Award Amount: $2,500 for the top video and $2,500 for top essay.  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $5,000.
