Number of Awards & Eligibility: 20 awards offered annually.
In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:
  1. This award is for U.S. students.
  2. Must be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident.
  3. Must be a graduating high school senior to apply for this freshman year award.
  4. Must plan to attend Depauw University in Indiana.
  5. Must demonstrate a commitment to community service.
  6. Must demonstrate financial need.
  7. Must attend a college or university in Indiana.

In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:

Description: U.S. graduating high school seniors who are planning to enroll at Depauw University are eligible for this award. Students who demonstrate financial need and a commitment to serving their community will be considered upon admission. Each year the application is due February 1.

Application requirements for the Depauw University Bonner Scholar Program are:

Additional Information: Bonner Scholars are selected from the incoming first-year class and are expected to stay involved and support the program through their four years of college. Students who have graduated from the program often say it had a profound effect on their college experience, and often find that their experiences as a Bonner Scholar helped them discover their chosen career path.

Award Amount: As part of the financial aid package, students receive an award of $2,500 each academic year. This is distributed as a stipend in regular installments each semester according to the guidelines outlined by the director (or coordinator) of the program.After the successful completion of each of the two required summer service internships and upon completing an exit interview with either the Bonner Scholars Director or Coordinator, each Bonner Scholar qualifies for an additional summer stipend of $1,500 for the academic year.The Bonner Foundation also will provide up to $1,000 for each of the two required summer service internships for food, travel, and living expenses.Awards are renewable for up to three additonal years as long as the recipient fulfills the program requirements each year.  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $50,000.

Applications are available online from the Depauw University website. There is not a separate application for this award. Eligible students accepted for admission will automatically be considered upon admission. In addition to the completed application for admission, the student must file the FAFSA (Free Application For Student Aid) by the deadline. The FAFSA is available from high school guidance counselors and online from fafsa.ed.gov. Applications and supporting materials must be submitted by the Feb. 1 deadline. Admissions applications must also be completed by Feb. 1.
