Number of Awards & Eligibility: Varies, all eligible students will be considered. Approximately 1,400 awards were offered in the previous academic year
In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:
  1. Must be a high school student at the time of application.
  2. Must be enrolled in a dual-enrollment or early enrollment program.
  3. Must either be eligible to receive assistance under a variety of federal government programs or the student and his/her family must have experienced a recent hardship.
  4. Must attend high school in Nebraska and be enrolled in college courses from eligible colleges or universities in Nebraska.
  5. This award is for U.S. students.
  6. Must be a resident of Nebraska.

In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:

Description: This award is available to Nebraska High School students who demonstrate financial need and are in dual-enrollment or early enrollment programs with eligible Nebraska Postsecondary institutions.

Additional Information: Authorized by the Nebraska Legislature in 2007, the Access College Early (ACE) Scholarship Program Act (LB 192) pays tuition and mandatory fees for qualified, low-income high school students to enroll in college courses from Nebraska's colleges or universities, either through dual-enrollment or early enrollment agreements with these institutions. There are two basic criteria for high school students to qualify for the ACE Scholarship. Students must either be eligible to receive assistance under a variety of federal government programs or the student and his or her family must have experienced a recent hardship. Award Amount: Awards cover the cost of tuition and mandatory fees for the dual-enrollment or early enrollment courses the student is enrolled. In the previous academic year, award amounts were for approximately $450.  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $450.

Applications are available from the Nebraska Coordinating Commission for Postsecondary Education (NCCPE) website and from guidance counselors at eligible high schools in Nebraska. The application must be completed and submitted to the students high school guidance counselor. The applicant's guidance counselor (or appropriate official) will verify the student's eligibility and forward the application to NCCPE for review. In addition to a complete application, students must also attach verification documentation of enrollment at an eligible college detailing the cost of the course. The application must be completed in its entirety, all supporting documentation must be submitted, and the student must be enrolled in a college course before the Commission will review the application and award a scholarship. The Commission must receive an application before the last day of the college course or before the student completes the course.
