Number of Awards & Eligibility: Two awards offered.
In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:
  1. This award is for U.S. students.
  2. Must be a U.S. citizen or eligible non-citizen.
  3. Must be an incoming or current undergraduate student.
  4. Must be a resident of Vermont.
  5. Must demonstrate resilience in the face of adversity and/or hardship.

In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:

Description: This scholarship is open to Vermont undergraduate students who demonstrate resilience in the face of adversity and/or hardship. Students must also demonstrate financial need.

Application requirements for the Nichols Family Scholarship are:

  • Essay
  • Recommendation letter
  • FAFSA
  • Application form
Additional Information: This scholarship was established in 2015 to honor Francis and Louise Nichols and their children, William Nichols and Sarah Nichols Gruenig. Applicants must: attend an accredited school approved for federal Title IV funding (Pell grants, Stafford loans, PLUS loans); and demonstrate financial need. Selection is based on financial need and application documents.

Award Amount: $6,250 scholarships offered.  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $12,500.
