Application requirements for the The Society for the History of Discoveries Student Prize Essay Contest are:

  • Essay
  • Cover page
Additional Information: Primary consideration will be given to the essay's originality and its contribution to new knowledge and insights. Other considerations will be the author's demonstration of the relevance of the subject, the cogency of the presentation and the documentation, and the stylistic quality of the essay. In the case of a tie, two awards may be given at the discretion of the judges. If no submission is judged to be either appropriate or sufficiently meritorious, the Society reserves the right to make no award.

Award Amount: The winner shall receive a prize of $500 and an invitation to make an oral presentation of the paper at the annual meeting of the Society.  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $500.
