  1. Must reside in one of the following counties in Texas: Brown, Callahan, Coleman, Comanche, Eastland, Erath, Hamilton, Shackleford and Stephens.
  2. Must be a graduating high school senior or undergraduate student.
  3. This award is for U.S. students.

Description: The Emma C. Browning Scholarship is available for graduating high school seniors and current undergraduate students who reside in one of the following Texas counties: Brown, Callahan, Coleman, Comanche, Eastland, Erath, Hamilton, Shackleford and Stephens. Applicants must demonstrate academic achievement and unmet financial need.

Additional Information: The Emma C. Browning Scholarship is provided annually for Texas students in the following counties: Brown, Callahan, Coleman, Comanche, Eastland, Erath, Hamilton, Shackleford and Stephens. Award selection will be based on a combination of academic achievement, unmet financial need, and other personal attributes of the candidates such as leadership, ambition, and talent. This scholarship is administered and managed through the Austin Community Foundation. Founded in 1977, the Austin Community Foundation has expanded to combine philanthropists, community leaders, and advanced financial management technologies. The foundation works to identify and assist the local populations in greatest need through a combination of scholarships, local initiatives, and grants. Award Amount: $2,500 annually, non-renewable.  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $2,500.

Applications and additional information about the Emma C. Browning Scholarship are available online at the Austin Community Foundation website. To apply for this award, students must complete the online application form and submit all documents and information required in the supplemental question section. For this scholarship, the following is required: copies of standardized test scores; a list of all awards and academic honors; a list of extracurricular activities including clubs, athletics, and other campus activities; a list of other hobbies, interests, and talents; a resume detailing the applicant's work history; and an essay describing the applicant's career plans and goals. All applications and supporting documents must be submitted online by the deadline date. Any late or incomplete submissions will not be considered.
