  2. Must be currently enrolled or planning to enroll in an undergraduate, graduate, or vocational program.
  3. Must be majoring in a healthcare field such as nursing, counseling, psychology, or social work.

Description: The Healthy America Award is available for U.S. students who are enrolled in or planning to enroll in an undergraduate or graduate program related to medicine. Students who are majoring in nursing, psychology, counselling, and social work are encouraged to apply.

Additional Information: The Healthy America Award is provided annually to assist with the educational expenses of tomorrow's healthcare workers. A panel of judges will review all eligible submissions for the following qualities: insight, usefulness of information, entertainment value, and emotional impact. One winner will be selected and notified within one month of the deadline date.

Award Amount: $2,000 annually, non-renewable. Funds will be paid to the student's PayPal account. No other forms of payment are available for this award, so the selected winner will be required to submit an email address that is associated with an active PayPal account.  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $2,000.

Applications and additional information about the Healthy America Award is available online at the GoodColleges website. To apply for this award, students must write an original essay of between 150 and 250 words in length that responds to the following theme: "Future Patients." It should address the student's motivations for pursuing an education and career in medicine, as well as how they plan to help those future patients they will someday interact with. To submit the essay, students must add a comment to the scholarship page that contains the contents of the essay. The first line of the essay should be used as the comment topic, and students must use a valid email address so that the provider can contact them in the case of award selection. All submissions must be made no later than the deadline date. Early application is encouraged.
