Number of Awards & Eligibility: One award offered annually.
In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:
  1. Must be enrolled at or accepted to Marist College.
  2. Must be a high school senior or undergraduate student at the time of application.
  3. Must be majoring in or planning to major in fashion.
  4. This award is for U.S. students.
  5. Must be a resident of Columbia, Dutchess, Greene, Orange, Putnam or Ulster County in New York state.
  6. Must be a U.S. citizen or legal permanent resident.

Description: This award is available for U.S. high school seniors and undergraduate students who are planning to pursue an undergraduate degree in fashion at Marist College.

Additional Information: This award has been established by the family of Mary Abdoo and the Dutchess County Regional Chamber of Commerce in honor of Mary's life and love of fashion. This scholarship is available to any resident of the Mid-Hudson Valley who is pursuing an undergraduate degree in fashion at Marist College.

Award Amount: $1,000 annually, non-renewable.  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $1,000.

Applications are available online from the Community Foundation of Hudson Valley website at the address provided. In addition to the completed application, each applicant must submit two letters of recommendation (one academic and one personal); a copy of his/her most recent transcript; a copy of the student's Student Aid Report (SAR) and Expected Family Contribution (EFC) information; and an essay of approximately 500 words responding to the prompt listed on the application. The Student Aid Report (SAR) is obtained by filing the FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid). The FAFSA is available online at www.fafsa.ed.gov, at high school guidance offices, and at college financial aid offices. Applications must be completed online by the deadline date.
