In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:
  1. This award is for international and U.S. students.
  2. Must be a full-time student.
  3. Must be a registered undergraduate junior or senior at an accredited four-year college or university in the United States during the fall semester.

Description: This award is for U.S. and international college juniors and/or seniors who are enrolled at an accredited four-year college or university in the United States during the fall semester.

Application requirements for the Elie Wiesel Prize in Ethics are:

  • Entry form
  • Essay (3 copies)
  • Recommendation letter
Additional Information: The readers are looking for: adherence to design format and carefully proofread essays; well thought out essays, which do not stray from the topic; depth of feeling, genuine grappling with a moral dilemma; originality and imagination; eloquence of writing style; and intensity and unity in the essay.

Award Amount: One first-prize award for $5,000, one second-prize award for $2,500, one third-prize award for $1,500, and two honorable mention prizes for $500 each. All awards are made on an annual basis and are non-renewable.  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $2,000.
