Number of Awards & Eligibility: Six awards offered annually.
In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:
  1. Must be female.
  2. Must be a high school junior or senior at the time of application.
  3. Must be a U.S. citizen.
  4. This award is for U.S. students.

In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:

Description: This scholarship is available for U.S. women who are currently enrolled as a high school junior or senior. To apply, students must submit an original essay on a constitutional topic and must provide two letters of recommendation.

Application requirements for the NFWL/NRA Bill of Rights Essay Scholarship Contest are:

  • Application form
  • Essay
  • Recommendation letter
Additional Information: Winners will be selected on the strength of recommendation letters as well as the quality of essays. Essays will be reviewed based on: historical research, insight, and perspective; demonstrated understanding of the U.S. constitution; inspirational quality; and demonstration of a meaningful and genuine personal connection. Recipients are expected to attend the NFWL Annual conference, November 14 – 18 in Minneapolis, MN. Awards will be presented during the conference.

Award Amount: $3,000 annually, non-renewable.  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $3,000.
