Number of Awards & Eligibility: One award offered annually.
In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:
  1. This award is for U.S. and international students.
  2. Must reside in Lubbock, Texas.
  3. Must identify as lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, or as a straight ally dedicated to LGBT advocacy.
  4. Must be a high school senior or undergraduate student at the time of application.

In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:

Description: This scholarship is available for residents of Lubbock Texas who identify as lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender (LGBT) or as a straight ally dedicated to LGBT equality. Selection is based on academic merit, financial need, and demonstrated commitment to community service and advocacy within the LGBT community.

Application requirements for the PFLAG Lubbock Chapter Lola Marie Drew Scholarship are:

  • Recommendation letter
Additional Information: This scholarship is provided annually to recognize outstanding gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender, and ally (GLBTA) students from the Lubbock community. PFLAG Lubbock feels it is important to encourage the continuing education of self-identified GLBTA students, and this award is intended to foster a positive image of GLBTA young people in society.

Award Amount: $1,000 annually, non-renewable.  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $1,000.
