Number of Awards & Eligibility: One award offered annually.
In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:
  1. This award is for U.S. students.
  2. Must be a U.S. citizen.
  3. Must be a female.
  4. Must enroll full time.
  5. Must have a grade point average of 3.0 or higher.
  6. Must be a college sophomore, junior, or senior, or a graduate student. The student must be in a position to accept the scholarship for the school year in which it is being awarded.
  7. Must major in engineering (any field).
  8. Must be a member of SWE.
  9. Must attend one of the following New Mexico universities: New Mexico Institute of Mining & Technology, New Mexico State University, or the University of New Mexico.
  10. Must be a re-entry student.

In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:

Description: This scholarship is open to female U.S. students who are re-entering education at the sophomore, junior, senior, or graduate level to study engineering. Students must have a grade point average of 3.0 or higher, be members of SWE, and attend a New Mexico university.

  • Application form
  • Official Transcript
  • Acceptance letter (if req.)
  • Resume
Additional Information: Please note: If there is no qualified candidate for this award, the scholarship committee can award a second scholarship under the SWE Central New Mexico Pioneers program. The availability of the scholarship is dependent upon renewals. Applicants may not be current recipients of a renewable SWE scholarship or receiving full funding for education from another organization (such as members of the armed services attending US military academies and students receiving full reimbursement from an employer). The applicant must enroll or plan to enroll in a program accredited by ABET. Accreditation status for degree programs at specific schools can be found at main.abet.org/aps/Accreditedprogramsearch.aspx.

Award Amount: $2,000 annually, renewable for six years.  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $2,000.
