MIT is the place where you learn from building projects. You have the option to study anything from engineering and computer science to economics, biology, or psychology. If you have great idea, the Martin Trust Center could help you turn it into a startup. Due to the fact that there are thousands of students on campus, it makes it easy to find friends, and the restaurants and museums are really close by. With students and teachers from around the world, you’ll always be solving problems that matter globally.

I've read about the type of projects that prior students have gotten the chance to conduct because of MIT. I personally am interested in being abel to work in groups and have fun creating our own products and conducting our own research.

MIT is one of the most reputable schools in the world. They also have the best robotics, coding, and science classes in the country. I love science, and electronics, and I would love to learn everything I can about them. I feel MIT is the best way to do so.

I have visited MIT, and the campus gave me a welcoming feel. I have had a strong desire to learn since a young age, especially when related to technology. Additionally, MIT has strong engineering and business programs that appeal to me greatly. Seeing MIT so high in university rankings made me want to attend, because I am always striving for perfection. I love the atmosphere of Boston in general, and specifically, MIT. When I visited Cambridge, Harvard, and MIT were both appealing to me. However, MIT felt like a better university.

MIT is attractive to me as a graduate student because of the consistent quality that the school produces. It's programs and students are regularly lauded for making breakthroughs in science and other research.

I am interested in attending MIT because it is the best of the best. I had the privilege of visiting the university, and I fell in love with it. The rigorous courses, the supportive community, and fun and engaging campus community activities, like hacking and roller coasters fascinated me. They make me want to do everything in my power to get there. Become one of them. I feel that MIT is a place where I can go to allow my mind to take me to different heights and make my community and world such a better place through everything I learn. That is why MIT stands out to me.

The reason I am interested in attending MIT is because of their Undergraduate research opportunities, their Hack centric culture, their D lab and Sandbox, their collaborative and team based classes, maker spaces and workshops, and their Independent activities period. Firstly I love how you can just hop into a lab and conduct your own research and design things that without the lab and research opportunities provided by MIT would be little to impossible. You also even have help from grad students and professors to help you with your research. I also love the fact that MIT not only does not take hacks too seriously they might even reward you if it was good enough. The fact that they reward you for your talent and work ethic shows that they care more about what you can do with your skills than the theory of your skills. The Dlab and Sandbox is somewhere you can come up with to fix problems for society or find a way to help other people on a small or large scale. The reason why this part really interests me is because I have been in situations where we could not afford certain things and if only we had a sustainable energy source or something to help us out we would be just fine. I also enjoy the fact that your not just stuck there by yourself, you have people that are willing to help you with whatever you need. There are people that will actively collaborate with you. I am interested in attending Massachusetts institute of technology because of how many amazing opportunity's there is. There is so a lot of clubs and programs that I am interested in because of how I am wanting to do computer engineering and coding. even though I know how hard it is to get into Massachusetts Institute of Technology it's my dream to go there and learn computer engineering.

Prospective04/27/2025

I feel that Massachusetts Institute of Technology offers the greatest opportunity both to learn and potentially forge new ground my area of interest. Even the course catalog excites me, and I begin to feel like I can see my future before me—a river of knowledge, flowing with purpose towards Maxwell’s equations, through Lagrangian mechanics, moving farther along, and extending to gauge theory. On some pathways, these concepts feel distant, but I know they are within my grasp at MIT, not only because I can explore established ideas, but also perform my own physics research through MIT’s Undergraduate Research Opportunity Program. Perhaps even more importantly, I could one day apply what I learn in a way that continues to drive humanity forward. MIT bridges the gap between acquiring knowledge and putting it to use— always discovering new things to build a better future.

Prospective04/13/2025

MIT is the pinnacle of STEM universities. If one thing stands out to me the most, its the opportunity to make connections. MIT is full of some of the smartest minds in the world, and because of that, there are massive opportunities to collaborate with equally motivated and forward-thinking people as myself. These connections really make MIT what it is: one of if not the top institute in the world. The academic opportunities are of course top of the line as well, but what really stands out is the ability to have people around you that foster competition and provide a genuine urge for me to succeed.

Dominik
Prospective04/05/2025

I want to use science and technology to make a difference in the world. Research in biotechnology and regenerative medicine is what stands out to me in addition to the collaboration of students to make things possible.

Yes; most of my current professors know my name. My favourite class: Algebra and Symbolic Programming. Class participation is common. Students study a lot of the time. There is a lot of work, and it's hard to get by without studying enough! Yes, I do have intellectual conversations outside of class, both with professors and fellow students. Students are not competitive, which I think is very good. I think MIT's education, at least in the Mathematics Department, is geared towards learning for its own sake.

  18. What's the one thing you wish someone had told you about freshman year?

I knew it was going to be academically rigorous, that was a no-brainer. But I am still learning the importance about not letting academics take over your life. In freshman year, the course load was lighter and I was able to have a varied social life. However, first semester sophomore year I retreated to skipping weekend parties just to make more time to study. Again, I'm still figuring out the balance and I'm trying harder to prioritize friends over problemsets.
