This contest is open to band students in grades four through twelve who submit an essay of up to 250 words on the current year’s band-related topic.

Marjorie M. Shostak Scholarship
This award is available for U.S. college sophomores, juniors and seniors who are pursuing an academic discipline leading to a career in international trade, business, law or a related international field. Acceptable majors include business administration with an international emphasis, economics or political science ( i.e., pursuing a law degree, with an international emphasis). Students must attend an accredited Southern California institution and have a grade point average of 3.0 or higher.
Northwest Arkansas Single Parent Scholarship
This award is for U.S. high school graduates who are single parents with near poverty-level income. The applicant must be a resident of Carroll County, AR, Madison County, AR, or Washington County, AR, and must have received or be in the process of applying for a Pell Grant. Texas AFL-CIO Scholarship
This scholarship is available for a Texas high school senior who is a member or the child of a member of a local union that is affiliated with the Texas AFL-CIO and the local Central Labor Council.
William A. Lee Scholarship
This award is available for U.S. high school seniors who are a member or the child of a member of an affiliated local union of the Chicago Federation of Labor, AFL-CIO. Students must plan to graduate from a Chicago-area high school in the year of competition.
Banatao Filipino American Education Fund Scholarship
This award is available for Filipino high school seniors who are a resident of California. Applicants must major in math, engineering, computer science, or the physical or biological sciences (excluding healthcare). Applicants must have a GPA of 3.0 or higher. Full-Tuition Scholarship at Central Christian College of the Bible
This full-tuition scholarship is available to all students who enroll at Central Christian College of the Bible in Moberly, Missouri.
STU-HSA Madelene Hill Scholarship
This scholarship is available for U.S. college juniors and seniors who are either Texas residents or attending a college in Texas. Students must be majoring in agronomy, horticulture, botany, or a closely-related discipline.
C.L. Overturf, Jr. Endowed Scholarship
This scholarship is available to U.S. citizens who graduate with an associate of arts degree from St. Johns River Community College and plan to attend a school in the Florida State University System. Students must have a grade point average of 3.25 and must not use tobacco products.
P.E.O. International Peace Scholarship Fund
Applicants must be studying in a graduate program in the United States with at least one full year of academic coursework left to be completed. Doctoral students who have completed coursework and are working only on dissertations are not eligible as first-time applicants. This award is for U.S and Canadian students.
