Marie

Student body is very active and supportive.

Mackenzie

BYU is definitely not the most diverse campus around... there are very few nonwhite students. Other races are definitely accepted here, but the area tends to be very white. Any nonmormon would probably feel out of place at BYU, or in the entire state of Utah.

Brittany

There are mainly Mormons at BYU. But racially, it's very diverse. Students are predominatly center right I would say.

Andrew

the activities at byu are popular and really fun.

BYU's student body is predominantly LDS and white. There are many students from out of the U.S. many of whom are athletes. Most come from middle class families. BYU has a honor code that contains a dress standard that every student must obey. Men are supposed to be clean shaven, and short hair. Clothes are nice and clean. Women must wear shirts with sleeves and skirts down to their knees. They can wear jeans also. No crazy hair styles or colors and many places on campus have the right to turn you away if you don't maintain these standards.

The official slogan of the university is "Enter to learn, go forth to serve". While for the most part, that is true, sometimes a more correct translation would be, "Enter to learn, go forth to earn." The question about one's major is almost immediately followed by "Oh, and what do you plan to do with that?"--with the implication of how lucrative said path will be. Nevertheless, and after passing the initial bar of the honor code of behavior and dress, I find the student body to be very diverse. In each of my classes, there are people from all over the country and usually the world. BYU has the most number of languages spoken and taught than any other university in the world.
