Someone who wants an education and not a party

A student considering attending FAU, as in any college, should be well researched on the strengths of the academic program they are planning on entering. Some examples of the areas a student should look into before deciding to attend FAU is the strength of their chosen program, the theories and teaching strategies of the faculty within that program, class sizes, along with the rate of sucessful graduates and job placement.

Fau use to be thought to be an "easy" school. However, they have raised their standards and it is beoming a harder school to get into. I think FAU is a well rounder school. There are plenty of clubs and sports. I would say a person who likes to party should find a different school to attend. FAU is not a big party school, nor is it a huge alcohol and drug school. It is a good school for people considering being in the health, law, business, and fine arts ares.

A very time savvy person should attend FAU, as well as any college. Having good time management is important when leaving what you have been used to your entire life. A steady work regime and knowing how to provide and keep your head in the game is something you will need here to succeed.

If you like the beach but won't get distracted you will be a good fit. Don't get too distracted with the activities off campus because a lot of things go on. If you like meeting crazy new and different people and are outgoing then you will be fine. If you aren't, there are plenty of opportunites to meet new people without having to be outgoing.

Florida Atlantic University has different people from different backgroud both racially and socially. There is not a "typical student" that attends FAU but it is rather expensive, so the student should be dedicated to their studies and want to suceed.

I think somebody who loves the south florida scene and is laid back definitely belongs here. We are located less than four miles away from the beach and close to major cities such as West Palm Beach, Fort Lauderdale, and Miami. However, with that its also important that if somebody comes to this school, they must be focused. There are a lot of fun things to do in leisure time, but its a University and there is a lot of work to be done as a student. For this school, you want to have fun but be focused.

A person that is dedicated to getting a great education and is open minded should attend this school. FAU has a lot of opportunities to allow a student to grow mentally, physically, and socially.

Anybody that is passionate for engineering, specially ocean engineering, wants a good education and is down to earth.

Anyone can attend this school, since there are people from all over the country that come here to learn.

The type of person who should attend at this school should be friendly and sociable because individuals at this school are very friendly, highly spirited and easy going. FAU would be great for any individual who is determined, and wants to succeed in their college career. This school has a calm and diverse environment, which allows people to actually dedicate time to deep studying. FAU is a great for students that live in South Florida, and want to live at their home throughout their first degrees.

Any type of person is allowed to come to school weather they be poor, rich, or middle class. There is very little discrimination at this school nor is there any alcohol or drug abuse at the school. The Teachers are very helpful towards the students (if they ask for the help that is) and there tends to be many clubs and activitys to hold your intrest during the week. With some brand new facilities the school makes you feel right at home within its walls.

From my personal view, people who are looking for an effecrive education but not too expensive. Other than that this school is fit for anyone.

A person who loves the sunshine state and loves the beachy atmosphere. This School would be looking for the people who are very involved in their school along with being serious about their studies. It's a great place if you like your space and quiet time as well, but also has a lot of options in the area of things to do.

Someone is very driven to learning and exploring new things

Only dedicated people should attend this school. Florida Atlantic University is a very serious University. The education department does not mess around. If you are a dedicated student to whatever major you choose, the staff at FLorida Atlantic University will do everything they can to help you. The campus offers many resources such as art galleries, study rooms and a library.

Person who wants exposure to and work with diverse group of students and professors. FAU is a large campus with many colleges/majors with both undergraduate and graduate programs. Lots of activities from clubs, sports, theater, arts, lectures, etc... Classes can be large lecture halls with several 100 students to small classes with discussions & hands on projects. Professors and advisors are overloaded so must really be independant student who searches out help if needed.

Someone who is dedicated to advancing themeselves for their lives. Or someone trying to get into a career that they want to pursue. Or someone who wants to just get a higher degree in the field they have.
